Developing Leaders On and Off the Court
Guided by its Youth Council, ICT’s NextGen Leadership Development Program for middle and high schoolers blends social events, volunteering, academic support, and apprentice coaching. Participants earn account credits for engagement.
- There is no cost or membership requirement for youth to register and participate in NextGen.
- The NextGen season lasts the duration of the school year, and youth may join at any point.
- There are no required meetings, though optional events take place occasionally, and youth are encouraged to take part in Youth Open Match Play.
- Youth must commit to a minimum of six hours of volunteering per month, either through ICT volunteer opportunities such as Super Saturdays, Red Ball Apprentice Coaching, or Peer-to-Peer tutoring, or through documented opportunities elsewhere.
- Youth who hit their monthly six-hour volunteering goal are rewarded with a $60 account credit.
- A small number of NextGen participants will be invited to join the NextGen Youth Council. Those members meet monthly and provide critical leadership to the program.
NextGen is overseen by Program Coordinator Dean Pekarek. Feel free to contact him with questions.
